About Me

My photo
I have been a crafter of all sorts for many years, and really love working with Paper and Threads. I am loving the design work I am doing now. I really seem to be getting back into my "art", even if I am doing it by computer now, instead of actually getting dirty while drawing. ;-) I have been avid about Thread Arts since I was a kid, learning to Crochet at 7, then Knit, Embroider, Needle Lace and finally Needle Tat. I love to design as well and am looking forward to taking the Needle Tatting that further step as well.

Pretty Threads to Play With!

Oooh!  I just HAD to share with you some Gorgeous threads I got the other day from Yarnplayer.  This is Hand Died Thread (HDT).  She Paints her own thread!  How cool is that! I bought them from her Etsy site.  I actually bought 2 of the size 40 threads, but I couldn't wait to roll it up, so I could start playing with it...lol  There are 50 yards of size 40 thread on each skein.  Be sure to check out her blog (in my list of blogs...just starting out....lol) and her Etsy site for some really gorgeous thread and patterns!
Well, tomorrow starts my new Design Class.  I am SO ready to learn something new!

Rose's Round Robin Doily

What better way to start out my new Blog than with Rose Roger's Round Robin Doily?  This one is done in size 30 DMC Cébélia Thread and measures a very dainty 6.75" across! (the blocking goofs have now been fixed...oops)  I really enjoyed making this one as well as the Variation of the Rose's Round Robin Doily which can be found in my Photobucket for those who wish to see that one.
Well, next week I start a brand new venture for me.  I have done design work for years, but always by the seat of your pants kind of stuff.  You know, out of your head.  Well, this time, I'm actually going to take a Class!  I'm going to learn how to really design Tatted Doilies, so look out ladies!  I can't wait!  The course is supposed to take several months, so you will all get to watch what happens as I will be posting my "homework" right here for all to see!  I will be sharing my patterns that I design here as well.  I hope you are all as excited as I am!
Hugs
