About Me

My photo
I have been a crafter of all sorts for many years, and really love working with Paper and Threads. I am loving the design work I am doing now. I really seem to be getting back into my "art", even if I am doing it by computer now, instead of actually getting dirty while drawing. ;-) I have been avid about Thread Arts since I was a kid, learning to Crochet at 7, then Knit, Embroider, Needle Lace and finally Needle Tat. I love to design as well and am looking forward to taking the Needle Tatting that further step as well.

Whoot! My FIRST Design in Design Class!

Yeup, you read right!  We got to do some designing for our 4th Lesson!  SO cool!  Sharon gave us the first round, the medallion of Chains and Rings, done to specific stitch count.  OUR job was then to come up with the Second Round!  The one constraint we had was that we could ONLY join to the first round at the Picots on every other Chain.  Well, this is what I came up with.  What do you think?  A keeper?  Should I keep going and go for a 3rd Round?  ;-)  For those interested in what I did for my second round, I've included my directions.
The main idea of this lesson was to learn about Negative Space and the impact it has on your design and how to use it.

You ready for another of my Crochet Designs? (sorry for the quality of the large picture)

This one is David's Ring Mail and was designed for a very special friend who passed away many years ago. One of his favorite things to do was to make Chain Mail, so in honor of his memory, I made this Doily and sent it to his mother several years ago around the Anniversary of his death. I still keep in touch with her as he and his family still hold very special spots in my heart. I hope you will all enjoy the very challenging, but truely pretty pattern.
